Ski Season 2019/20 in Georgia

New ski season is around corner and SkiGeorgia as traditional will overview that is coming new at the Georgian Ski Resort.

This year there is not so many news as usual for Georgian ski resort, but I will highlight most important projects taken by governmental company who manages Georgian ski resorts.

Let’s start from Bakuriani as most of project have been done in Borjomi region. Bakuriani is hosting 2023 Freestyle World Championship which drives new projects in this beautiful ski resort on lesser Caucasus.

Bakuriani bypass road project is completed and from upcoming ski season guests of Bakuriani without entering congested town center now can drive directly to Didveli ski area. As governmental managers are reporting this will help Bakuriani to have less cars in town on holiday breaks.

Three new Doppelmayer D-Link ski lift constructions is nearly completed
Didveli gondola lift traffic is increased by adding few new cabins.
Artificial snow project is also under construction but probably won’t be launched for upcoming season.

Big car parking near Didveli ski area is completed which will solve parking problems around messy ski area.

Kobi - Gudauri Ski Lift

Gudauri is terms of ski resort infrastructure has one project done which was started last year. Project is about avalanche management on newly developed Kobi area, more details about this project you can read in our article from last year.

Goderdzi and Mestia has no any single project done in terms of ski resort infrastructure development.

All other pre-season preparating works has been done and all resort are waiting enough amount of snow to start operations.
